James Gordon "Jim" Lewis

James Gordon Lewis was born on July 10th 1954 to Fred and Beth Lewis. He was born with 2 older sisters Lynda and Gloria. And an older brother Ted. A few years later his younger brother Jeff was born. Three months after that they lost their father. His mother Beth was a fighter. She did whatever it took to provide for her children, at one point working 3 full time jobs. Because of his mother’s responsibilities he was raised in large part by his oldest sister Lynda. Jim was an ornery boy with a good heart. After high school he joined the US Air Force. He found himself stationed at McConnell AFB where he met and later married Jane Hutsey, who blessed him with three beautiful daughters: Caroline Pynn, Jordan Dianne, and Kyle Rose. He considered their grandfather (his mentor in the insurance business) Paul Hutsey, to be the greatest man he ever knew. Jim sold life insurance in Pittsburg rising through the ranks before turning his eye to other pursuits. He later moved back to Wichita, Ks and married Janet Lynn. She blessed him with James Gordon II and Jeanna Nichole. They lived in Colwich, KS. Jim then moved to Wichita where he met Patricia See. They spent 15 years together. Jim liked baseball. He loved the Yankees. He didn’t care much for other sports unless he was watching the Knicks, Islanders, or Mets. He was a jokester. He was the life of the party. He built two entire houses with his bare hands, and he always said he had a third one in him. He was a dreamer. He dreamt to win the lottery and had a notebook detailing his plans when he won. He was going to give away half of it off the top to his family and friends. Then he was going to build that 3rd house, start his own charity and build the world’s greatest sports complex.Jim was a lover. The only thing he loved more than his country was being a grandpa. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren. 1. I had recently moved back to Wichita and had a friend who was doing a fight at Kansas Star. We went on a Daddy/Daughter date night to watch the fight and then stayed and played, I can’t remember if we won $$ but I did win some memories πŸ’œπŸ’™
    I love you Best Buddy.
