Lythgoe, James Harry “Jim”, passed away May 11, 2012. A memorial service will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at East Heights United Methodist Church. After graduating from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania, Jim had a 36 year career with DuPont before he retired and moved to Wichita to be with his family. In his retirement he enjoyed golfing, wood-working, gardening, and loved attending his grandchildrens activities. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Florence Lythgoe, of Gouldsboro, PA, and a sister, Joanne Shaller, of Mt. Home, PA. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughters, Carolyn Hobble and Trish Calvert (Kent), all of Wichita; son, Jim (Tracey), of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Daniel and Katie Hobble, Annie and Claire Calvert, Trevor and Meghan Lythgoe. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with East Heights United Methodist Church, 4407 East Douglas, Wichita, Kansas, 67218, and The Leukemia Lymphoma Society, 300 North Main, Wichita, Kansas, 67202. Jim’s family attests what a wonderful husband, father and grandfather he was. We are so sorry for your loss and pray that cherished memories and God’s eternal promises will comfort you in the coming weeks and months. Regretfully we are leaving town and cannot attend tomorrow.
Hi Carolyn, I was so sorry to hear about your dad’s passing. I’m sure this is a tough time for you. I was pretty sure you were here in Wichita but I didn’t realize your family was here as well. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Kathy, I don’t know if you remember me since I haven’t played tennis in some years (tho’ still a member of WINS), but I was sorry to hear about your loss and send my condolences to you and your family.
Our hearts and prayers are there with you.
Jim was such a good ‘friend in faith’ to Luke. We are so thankful for his friendship and cherish the great memories.
Jim was a wondrful golfer…met and play at Crestview …but he was also a wonderful man and geteleman that I admired.. Best wishes to his family … your pain and sorrow is shared. Don Gaylor
