James Myers

Myers, James Taylor, was born September 14, 1931 in Dodge City, Kansas. He was a lifetime resident of Dodge and had retired with his wife at Lake Arrowhead, Medicine Lodge, Kansas. He passed away on February 19, 2012. Jim served in the United States Army and was a member of the Kansas State University Alumni Board Association, DCCC Board of Trustees, ELKS, Jaycees and the Kansas Bar Association. He was a graduate of both Kansas State University and Washburn School of Law. Jim is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carolyn K. (Moore) Myers. Surviving children of Jim and Rita A. Saunders include: Mark and wife, Tami Myers, of Ogden, UT, Tom and wife, Sarah Myers, of Charlotte, NC, Tina and husband, Loren Frees, of Hutchinson, Julie and husband, Dean Edwards, of Wichita. He is also survived by his stepsons, Shane and wife, Wendy Vogel, of Roseville, CA, Scott and wife, Tammy Vogel, of Montgomery, TX. Jim and Carolyn have been blessed with 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Donations in Jims name may be made to the charity of your choice. I’m so sorry for your loss, Carolyn. I have great memories of running up the hill to see the both of you when you would arrive at Lake Arrowhead for the weekend….and I never forgot that Jim’s birthday was the same day as mine! Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
Jim was a great guy. Always a smile, and a good thing to say. I enjoyed working with him in Dodge City. Jan and I have spoken of Jim often, and he has our respect. He will be missed. Ed Brancart and Jan (Frauen) Bradfield.
