James Terrell “Jim” Ross was born on December 30, 1943 passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015 after a battle with prostate cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob Ruth Ross; sister, Cathie; brother, Ron; niece, Julie. Survivors include wife, Judy; sons, Cory, Kelly (Michelle), Colby; grandchildren, Tyler (Kalena), Allison (Chaz), Kody; great-granddaughter, Emma; sister, Judie (Tony); a host of nieces nephews. Jim graduated from Kapaun in 1961 before attending Regis college in Denver. He received a Bachelors Degree in business from Wichita State University later received a Masters Degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas in 1969. After college, Jim Judy were married in 1969 and he then joined the Army Reserves. After leaving active duty, Jim took over his dads service station which he ran successfully for the next 35 years. In 1987, Jims wife Judy joined him started making homemade sandwiches in a converted tire room the Pump House Diner began. In 2009 the station diner was converted to a bar grill the popular bar called The Pump House is now being ran by his family. Jim was a very well respected businessman, father husband that was well liked by everyone who knew him. Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M., Sunday, September 13, 2015. Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, September 14, 2015, both at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Memorials have been established with St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1321 Stratford Lane, Wichita, KS 67206, Wichita State University, Shocker Fitness, 1845 Fairmount St, Wichita, KS 67260.
