Jan Blogref, 83, Retired Graphic Artist Production Manager, died Thursday, March 28, 2024. Celebration of Life will be at 10:00 am, Friday, April 5, 2024, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. A void was left in this world on March 28, when Jan (Sue, Nana) took flight for the heavens. No doubt she was met by her grandkids, Kodi and Robert, with open arms and smooches. Before she left this planet, Jan gave us all such a gift. This woman, who was made of love, gave of herself to everyone. She was a stellar example of how to love wholeheartedly and unconditionally. Her heart was as large as her very goofy sense of humor. Tongue in cheek sarcasm and punny humor were her favorites. She loved the Minion movies and Monty Python.Jan also loved her music. She and Joe have an extensive and eclectic collection. Her favorites were many, including Willie Nelson, John Prine, Pink Floyd, Queen and Mannheim Steamroller. Quite a spread! She was proud of her children, all five of them (she never considered the word "step"- she loved all of them equally), and she loved to share stories of the grand kids and great grand kids to anyone who wanted to hear. And she shared. A lot.She loved her sweet Joey. He was so dedicated to her, loved her and cared for her so very well in her illness. Though we miss her mightily, we are so grateful she was ours to love. All of us could do well to live a life as full, as fun, as kind and as joyous as she did.Preceded in death by her parents, Wallace, III and Rozella Jones; grandson, Robert DeLancey; granddaughter, Kodi Lynn Curtis.Survived by her husband, Joseph Blogref of Wichita; children, Jeffory Curtis, Steven Curtis, both of Wichita, Cheryl (Mike) Casamento of Andover, Geoffrey (Kristi) Blogref of Overland Park, KS, Joel (Sarah) Blogref of Wichita; grandchildren, Simon (Chaela) Sumner of Derby, Clinton Curtis of Wichita, Caleb Blogref, Teagan Blogref, Emery Blogref, all of Overland Park, KS, Hannah Blogref, Joseph Blogref, both of Wichita; great-grandchildren, Landon and Mallory Sumner of Derby, KS.A memorial has been established with: American Cancer Society, P.O. 1. Thanks Jan for being a great listener, friend, coworker and human being! Appreciate your friendship. You will be missed but not forgotten. Say hello to Shane, Shandy, John and the gang.

  2. Always was there with a smile. Going over to their house was a pleasure talking and games. A treasure that will be missed. Until we meet again.

  3. My Name is Tony Molina, we met Jan when she married Joe, these were two of the most generous people I have ever met. They hosted Super Bowl and Christmas parties, oh such great times. Jan was just a nice and kind person. I will pray for her and Joe, as they were such good friends .

  4. Mom was my best friend. We didn’t just love each other, we enjoyed each other. She was the “cool” mom growing up, and the best friend I ever had. She was the BEST mom.
Mom would say “Every one thinks their mom is the best. And they’re right”.
I love you momma. You’re my girl.
