Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I remember Jane when I taught at Blessed Sacrament from 1980 to 1989. She was a beautiful blonde mom both inside and out and always had a smile on her face. I did an inspirational talk at the East Y a few years ago and she was in the audience. I recognized her right away and she came up to me and told me all about her multiple myeloma and how she knew she only had less than five years to live. She looked so incredibly good that day I just could not imagine that she couldn’t beat it. Somehow I survived a horrific gunshot wound and I’m still alive and grateful every day just as she was! I know you are proud of what a good person she was and that she is looking down upon all of us with a big smile. Julie Dombo

  2. We are so sorry for you loss Uncle Bob, Jennifer, Stephanie and Jon. Aunt Jane was just an amazing lady. Whenever we would visit and spend time with Jennifer, Stephanie and John she always made you feel so much at home. She will be greatly missed, so our thoughts and prayers are with the Steffens family. Todd, Joleen, Megan and Logan Scheer

  3. Bob and family, I was so sad to hear about Jane’s passing. I have so many good memories of spending time with your family. Jane always made me smile and I loved having a good conversation with her. She had a sense of humor like none other! Thank you for sharing her with me! I am praying for all of you. Love you. – Jola

  4. Jane was a great lady. Kind, friendly and fun! Jane was on the front line of helping many of our family members in their accounting and tax work. Colleen and I had the pleasure of sitting behind Jane and Bob at Music Theatre of Wichita, it was always fun to visit with them before the shows began. A little slice of making Music Theatre more special! She will be missed but will always be in our hearts. Bob and family, please be assured of our thoughts and prayers. Tom & Colleen

  5. To Cousin Bob and family, My sincerest condolences to all of you in the passing of Jane. She was such a beautiful person inside and out. Family was everything to her. I remember her always being there at family reunions and she always lit up the room. She is at peace now with our heavenly father. Love to all, Cousin Janie Steffens(Mairs)

  6. We are so happy to have had the chance to get to know Bob and Jane through the east branch YMCA. We always enjoyed our visits and laughs with them at the tables in the foyer. Having pancakes on the first Wednesday of each month even made it more enjoyable. Jane was a delight with her great smile and fun sense of humor. She will be missed. Please accept our sincere condolences. Greg and Karen Perkins

  7. Jane did have that infectious smile. I am so sad to hear of her passing. The Mass was beautiful. I just wish that I could of been there in person. Know that the memories of our families together will always bring a smile to my face and warmth to my heart. Love to all of you, Gretchen Connolly

  8. Dear Jane’s family, I enjoyed my visits with Jane at the 4th Degree events, but especially the bus trip with the bishop we took to EWTN a few years ago. Her smile was such a blessing. The Divine Mercy Lady, God bless you, love and prayers, Lillian Palsmeier

  9. The highlight of many Christmases was visiting Jane, Bob and family with Mom, Dad and our kids. Such a warm and welcoming place to be for the holiday! Thank you these precious “Norman Rockwellesque” memories! Jane really knew how to do it right! The weather interfered with our intention to attend the Funeral and we are greatful for the live stream. Beautiful service! -Bill & Chris Woodhouse

  10. No news for me to say that Jane was such a fun loving, lovable, generous person to everyone she met. I was a little girl when I first remember her as our parents were close friends. Later, we lived near each other when you kids were young so you won’t remember me but I stayed with you a few times when your parents wanted to get away for a few days. Because I don’t live in Wichita, I only saw Bob and Jane recently at events in Garden Plain and/or events for young seminarians. Always cheerful and warming. Her absence will be missed with you by soooo many. You’re in my Thoughts and Prayers Nancy (Kramer) McClelland
