ANDOVER: Balmer, Janel Nichole, 16, Rose Hill high school student, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012. Memorial service 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 8 at Countryside Christian Church. Visitation with family, 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M., Saturday, July 7 at Downing Lahey Mortuary East, 6555 E. Central, Wichita, KS, 67206. Survivors: parents, John and Julie Balmer of Andover, KS; brother, Justin Balmer of Wichita; maternal grandparents, Bob and Jane DeWitt of Bentonville, AR; paternal grandparents, Tom and JeAnne Balmer and paternal great-grandmother, Katharine Jones all of Aledo, IL; aunts and uncles, Jill and Robbie Lewis of Concord, N.C. and Scott and Julie Balmer of Aledo, IL Memorials have been established with Compassion Ministries, c/o Countryside Christian Church, 1919 S.   4. Janel’s high energy, positive attitude and always smiling face will be missed tremendously. I think I had a funny story about that girl every single day when I worked at the school age program. Just full of personality and spunk! It’s been several years since I’ve seen her, but I can still hear her distinctively unforgettable laugh! My thoughts have been and will continue to be with you all as you celebrate her life, one that touched so many all around the country.

  28. I was blessed to have Janel in our program at McConnell AFB. She was always so positive, funny, outgoing and loved helping out. She had such a sweet spirit. I look forward to seeing her again when we are all reunited in Heaven. Until then, she will be missed.
