Janet Mouser, 65, of Andover, passed peacefully at her home on January 2, 2024. To think of all the adjectives to describe Janet would be impossible; she was an amazing, loving, funny, strong willed, beautiful woman who was full of love and life for her family and friends. Her biggest love in life was her family. Her daughter, Jennifer Holler of Haysville, and her son, Jeremy Wood (Bethany) of Cleveland, OK, along with her grandchildren, CPL Tyler Wallace of Tacoma, WA and Mikayla Stout (Garrett) of Derby and one great granddaughter, Lilly Stout, will miss her dearly, but will carry on her favorite things.Janet loved the outdoors. She loved camping and fishing as well as gardening. She didn’t always have luck getting her tomatoes to grow, but she kept trying with her husband Stanley Terwort, Sr. of Andover. She also loved her Dallas Cowboys. If the Cowboys were playing, she would watch them, even at the lake. She also loved to travel. Some of her favorite trips were when she went on “Sisters Trips,” as they called them. Cruising, beaches and even Kansas castles were some of her favorite memories with Debra Longenecker of Bel Aire, Susan Alder (Scott) of Wichita, Ruth Mallon (Michael) of Houston, TX and Sandra Alfrey of Andover. The sisters will be sure to carry on the “Sisters Trips” even though they won’t be the same without her. Janet was the fifth child of 11 born to Howard and Geraldine Alfrey, who both precede her in death. She told us many stories about growing up and how her brothers would pick on her. She is survived by Howard (Jackie) Alfrey, David Alfrey, Gregory (Dani) Alfrey, Charles (Sara) Alfrey. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Mark, Patrick and Brian Alfrey. Her laugh would light up a room, and you could always get her to shoot tequila with you. She didn’t know a stranger, and took friends in as her family. She has many nieces, nephews and friends that will carry a piece of her in their hearts, until we meet again one day. Memorial Service will be from 3:00 - 6:00 pm, Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 3106 E. 13th St., Andover, KS 67002.Services in care of Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.

  1. Janet, what can I say? I miss you so much already and it’s only been a couple of days. Our sisters trips will never be the same without you. I know you have plenty of family to greet you at the pearly gates. Tell mom, dad and the brothers Hello!! Miss you and love you forever sister ❤️❤️❤️❤️

  2. So many memories come to mind. There’s so many to talk about. My favorites will always be spending summers at El Dorado Lake. I am beyond thankful that I was able to constantly go camping with my grandparents and have my aunt Janet’s camper right next to us. I still can’t stand touching fish but I have so many memories of fishing with her and my grandpa. There were so many boat rides and many times cousins were being thrown from the tube. Definitely way too many sunburns & some late nights by the campfire making s’mores. There was always so much love. You always felt her love. I know grandpa has been waiting to catch some fish with you. Give him a hug for me. I love you always.

  3. So very sorry for your loss. All my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I remember as a kid coming over and us cousins all spending the night. Janet knew my favorite meal of hers and she would always make the best goolosh, corn and fried potatoes! Great memories!
