Janice Elaine Collins, 80, Retired Nurse, died Sunday, December 18, 2022. Memorial Service will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 7, 2023, at St. James Episcopal Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Donald Collins; parents, William “Harold” Bates and Elaine Anne Bates. Survived by her sister, Nancy Mambi of Minneapolis, MN; daughter, Georgianna (Ramona Scarpace) Smith of New Brighton, MN; son, Michael (Deborath) Allen of Wichita, KS; and one granddaughter, Estivaly. A memorial has been established with the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219. Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary - East Chapel.

Janice was a client of mine and a great friend . I did her hair and she always insisted that I had a piece of pizza with her that she had bought next door to our salon. I’d take her home so she wouldn’t have to call uber .We’d visit on the phone sometimes, she was such a good listener .
She was my friend and I’ll never forget her . Terri Williams.
