I am so sorry to hear today about Jan. I didn’t know she was I’ll. Mel, you and Jan were my dear friends and were so very good to a gal from the east that needed a friend. Jan was always such a jovial host; a great cook; a straight talker; and in charge! God Bless your entire family as you mourn the loss of your wife, mom, grandma and friend.
Mel, Greg and family: Very sad to learn of Jan’s passing…you are all in my heart and prayers during this difficult time. Had some really fun times playing gin with Jan at SWCC..she was a crackerjack player and lots of fun! Bless you all! Sheryl Dick

Mel and Kids, I don’t know if you remember me, but Ronnie Frick and I use to live by you in Garden City. I am so sorry to read that Jan died. My heart goes out to each of you. I always contributed the fact that I went back to college and got my teaching degree to Jan. She encouraged me and I have never been sorry I did. Especially after Ronnie died and I had the kids to support. I remember telling her that when I graduated and she said something like, well, send me part of your pay check then. 🙂 I taught 32 years and retired in 2000. My husband, Jack, and I went together when I was a sophmore and junior in high school. It’s a long story how we got together, but have been married and living in Ellinwood, KS for 31 and half years now. I taught with one of your cousins, Evelyn Stegman, here in Ellinwood. She’s a very good frined of mine. From Offerly, KS. I wish I had some words of encouragement that would make the sadness go away, but I don’t. I still feel the pain after all these years. Best wishes. Nova
