Maize, Kansas - Janie Bliss, 76, retired high school teacher, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017. Visitation, 5-7 p.m., Sunday, June 11, at Downing & Lahey Mortuary West. Funeral Service, 2 p.m., Monday, June 12, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Janie’s legacy lives on through the numerous students she taught over her 38-year teaching career. The memories are many…from cheerleading sponsor, class sponsor and counselor. Teaching was not a job, it was her passion. Preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Sara Keeler. Survivors: husband, Ronald; sons, Erik (Debbie) Bliss of Cincinnati, OH, Kirk (Michelle) Bliss of Maize; grandchildren, Taylor, Logan, Caden, Derek, Drake, Daniel, Andrew, Madison and Meaghan; brother, Johnny (Letha) Keeler of Lincoln, KS.
