Jay D. Swanson

Swanson, Jay D., 80, died Monday, April 29, 2013. Funeral Service will be 4:00 P.M., Friday, May 3, 2013, at Central Christian Church. Jay D. is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Suzie; son, Timothy J. Swanson (children, Jay D. Swanson, II, Caroline Swanson); daughter, Michelle Swanson Sanders (husband, Timothy J. Sanders, children, Cooper J. Sanders, Hayley S. Sanders); sister, Beverly Innis, Prairie Village, KS. After graduating from OU, Jay D. was called into service by the US Air Force. Jay D. began his life long career in the oil and gas business, first with Phillips Petroleum and later with David Mud and Chemical. Jay enjoyed many additional business interests and had a true entrepreneur spirit. He was a public servant serving as mayor of Eastborough and was deeply involved with the Republican Party. Jay loved to sell; he woke up every day with pride and purpose ready to sell. He was confident, a leader, and a great idea guy. His love of family and for his wife Suzie will be missed. He loved his family. Jay always gave more of himself than he took; he had a tremendous presence, wit and a very sharp mind. When Jay D. Swanson walked into a room, you knew it.
