Jay Louis Wedel

Jay Louis Wedel, 49, of Haysville, KS, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 5, 2018. He was born in Newton, Kansas on August 27, 1968. Jay grew up in Moundridge, KS, where he attended school and graduated from Moundridge High School. He then graduated from Hutch Community College. He married Melinda Rome of Hutchinson, KS on August 4, 1990. They have three children together: Jayke, Melissa, and Luke Wedel. Jay worked at Taylor Communications as a Senior Buyer. Jays biggest joys in life were his kids, friends, fishing, music, and watching football and baseball. A day spent fishing with his kids was noted as the best day ever! He was always the funniest person in the room, and could make anyone smile. Jay was preceded in death by his father, Louis Dean Wedel. He is survived by his three children; brothers, Jon and Jed Wedel; sister-in-law, Holly Wedel; mother, Aleta Rempel; and mother of his children, Melinda DeSplinter. Jays life will be celebrated by a private service with friends and family at a later date.
