Jayne Ellen Knipp, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on April 15, 2023, at the age of 74, surrounded by her loving family.Born on April 6, 1949, in Wichita, KS, Jayne grew up in Wichita; she attended East High School where she first met the love of her life, Steve. Jayne was passionate about cooking, gardening, decorating, sewing, shopping, slot machines and most importantly her friends and family. She was a devout Catholic; her relationship with Jesus was strong.Throughout her life, Jayne was known for her kind heart, infectious laugh, and her unwavering devotion to family and friends. She was warm and welcoming, and her generosity knew no bounds.When she wasn’t planning and organizing the next family event, she spent time with her family and friends, going out to dinner or the movies. Jayne never missed an episode of Survivor or General Hospital. She loved to play cards and games, having BBQ’s and hanging out in her pool; everyone was welcome in her home. Jayne is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Patricia Nuss; her granddaughter, Myranda Jayne; her sister, Vickie DeVore; and her brother, Brad Nuss. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Steven L. Knipp; her four children and 9 grandchildren: son, Patrick (Tonya) and their children, Cameron, Chelsea, Chloe, and Cailyn; son, Jeff (Laurie) and their children, Alexis and Emma; daughter Kimberly; and her son, Todd, and his children, Alaina, Natalie, Dallas. She is also survived by her sisters, Gayle Ross and Marsha Walter; her brother, Tom Nuss; and many other beloved family members and friends.Her memory will always be cherished by those who knew and loved her. A rosary and celebration of life will be held at 7 pm on Thursday April 20, 2023 at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be held at All Saints Catholic Church at 10 am Friday April 21, 2023. I was not really family but the few times I seen her is when me and her son Todd were together and she was very sweet and nice to me I’m sorry Kim and Todd for ur guys loss ur mother will be in my heart to .
