Mom grew up in the oil fields, went to business school during the Depression, and joined the Industrial USO during WWII. She met dad at a USO dance in Salina, writing to him throughout the war. They married afterwards and settled in Wichita. Along with being the best mom ever, Jean was always a great ambassador for all of her many groups and interests. She was a past-President of NAWIC; a former member of BPW, DAR, and Circle of Friends; and a current member of the UMW. She enjoyed the Big Band music Dale played professionally, card groups and of course Mexican Train Dominoes. She loved her children immensely, was extremely proud of her grandchildren and thrilled with her great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, 5701 E. Mt. Vernon St., Wichita, KS 67218.
