Jean Ellen Billinger, (1916-2016), a longtime Wichita resident, passed peacefully on July 8, 2016 among her loving family in Richardson, TX. She was preceded in death by husband Max W. Billinger, Jr of Wichita; daughter, Heidi Cook of Richardson, TX and is survived by sons, Max W. "Bill" Billinger, 3rd of Montgomery Village, MD, John C. "Jack" Billinger of Golden, CO, and daughter, Betty J. "Jana" VanKeuren of Prairie Village, KS. She was also blessed with 15 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be held in the Chapel at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 1958 N. Webb Rd. on Friday, July 15 at 10:30 am. Following entombment at Mission Chapel Mausoleum at Old Mission Cemetery, there will be a memorial reception at Homewood Suites by Hilton, 1550 Waterfront Pkwy, in Wichita. Jean retired as a music teacher from the Wichita Public School System, thereafter dedicating nearly four decades to enriching the lives of her ever-growing family. Jean and Max Jr. retired to Grand Lake, OK, where they co-founded the Grace Presbyterian Church in Grove, OK. Upon relocating to Dallas, TX, Jean took pride in crocheting a blanket-a-week for the neonatal unit at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. She also was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Wichita, The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, Daughters of the American Revolution and the Jamestowne Society. Donations to Senior Services of Wichita, 200 S. Walnut, Wichita, KS 67213 or Colonial Dames, 2715 Q St. NW, Washington, DC 20007 would be gratefully welcomed. Services are with Downing & Lahey Mortuary East in Wichita.
