Jeanne Carol Hoyer

Hoyer, Jeanne Carol (Heinicke), 85, died January 9, 2015, in Wichita, KS. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Reformation Lutheran Church. Born in St. Louis, Jeanne graduated from Washington University there but worked summers at Camp Beaverbrook in the Poconos, where she met her husband, the soon-to-be-Reverend Richard Hoyer. Together they raised five children. Jeanne taught at Hope Lutheran School in St. Louis and at Redeemer Lutheran School in Philadelphia. After receiving her Masters Degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, she taught children with reading difficulties in non-public schools in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Words and literature were always treasured. Upon retirement, the couple moved to the natural splendor of Hilton Head Island, SC, to walk the beach and welcome family, by then expanded to include spouses and grandchildren. Later years brought her to Wichita, to the Larksfield retirement community. Preceded in death by her parents, she is survived by husband, Richard O. Hoyer; and children, Timothy Hoyer (Bonnie) of Jamestown, NY, Rebecca Hoyer (Michael Dwyer) of Wichita, Nicholas Hoyer of Wichita, Stephen Hoyer (Marisela Morales-Hoyer) of La Jolla, CA, Andrew (Lisbeth Petersen) of Seattle, WA, and 7 grandchildrenAlanna, Zachary, Kaiya, Jordan, Chelsea, Theodore and Tobiah.
