Dr. Jerome "Jerry" French, a highly esteemed ear, nose, and throat surgeon, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025, in Wichita, KS, at the age of 80. Born in Cleveland, OH, on April 21, 1944, to the late Gerald and Eunice French, Jerry lived a life marked by dedication, humor, and generosity. Jerry's journey in medicine began at the University of Florida, where he studied medicine and found his calling. His career was distinguished by compassionate care and commitment to his patients. He was renowned not only for his surgical skill but also for the warmth and kindness he extended to all who were in his care. Jerry's zest for life extended beyond the operating room. He was an avid outdoorsman who found solace and joy in hunting, fishing, and golf. His laughter was infectious, and his generous spirit touched the lives of many. Jerry is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Alexis "Lexi" (Marcus) Kater and Chelsea (Dr. Bryan) Christinat, both of Wichita; and his son, James French of Wichita. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Sailor Alexander, Noah, Lizzy, and Isaac Langhofer, Ellie and Lanie Kater. He also leaves behind his brother, Robin French of CA; sister, Jacquie (Richard) Kern of WI; and sister-in-law, Jackie French of MI. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rory French; and sister-in-law, Theresa French. Dr. Jerome "Jerry" French will be profoundly missed by family, friends, and the countless lives he enriched. His humor and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Memorial Service will be at 10:30 am, Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary - East Chapel.
