Schon, Jerry Lane, 59, Cessna employee, died Saturday, July 4, 2009. Visitation with the family, 6:00-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 8; service, 1:00 P.M., Thursday, July 9, both at Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Preceded in death by parents, Hie and Edith (Wacker) Schon. Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law, Drew and Alyson Schon, Eric and Dara Schon all of Wichita, Michael Schon of Caldwell; wife, Michelle Dilks of Maize; Michelles daughters, Valerey and Katrina Murray of Wichita; grandchildren, Andrew, Blake, Riley, Alec, Lanee, Autumn and Antonio all of Wichita, Chloe and Gavin of Caldwell; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and J.R. Mortimer of Wichita; brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Virginia Schon of Goddard; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Jerry and I graduated from Maize High School in 1967. We both played football there, and when Jerry tackled you, you knew you’d been HIT! I visited with him just before the last class reunion, and was really disappointed when he didn’t come. I will miss him.
Jerry was a good person to me and my family, He will definitely be missed by all who loved him, the Davis Pig Roasts won’t be the same without Jerry’s helping hands! Thanks for all you did!
