Rockwell, Joan E. (Parker), 84, Catholic Care Center resident died Friday January 8, 2010 after an extended illness. The youngest of nine children born to Henry and Elizabeth (Bessie) Parker of Kingman. She was a retired librarian and school teacher. She married Ford A. Rockwell, former head librarian of the Wichita Public Library in 1973. They made their home in east Wichita near the Rockwell Branch library until his death in 1997. Her survivors include a sister, Doris Munden of Wichita, and nearly two dozen nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to the Sisters of Charity, BVM, 1100 Carmel Drive, Dubuque, Iowa, 52003-0799. Rosary service will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 12, 2010, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M., both in the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church Chapel. Graveside service will be 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Waterloo, Kansas. Rosary service 10:00 A.M. Tuesday before the Funeral Mass. Graveside service 1:30 P.M. at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Waterloo, Kansas
