Joan Justine Hogan

Joan Justine Hogan (Geiser), 86, retired school teacher and homemaker died Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00pm, Vigil and Rosary will be at 7:00pm, Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00am, Friday, April 10, 2026, at Church of the Magdalen Catholic Church. Internment will follow at Ascension Cemetery.

She was born and raised in Hamilton, Ohio and was preceded in death by her parents, Winifred and John Geiser; brother, Fr. John (Xavier) Geiser OFM; sister, Carol Lodder; and brother, Robert Geiser. Joan was active in many ministries at Church of the Magdalen, including the Altar Society and ministry to the homebound. She was one of the first volunteers at the Catholic Care Center and was recognized for her more than 20 years of service there. She delivered Meals on Wheels for over 30 years, along with volunteering at The Lord’s Diner.

Survived by her husband, William Hogan; daughter, Patricia (Gregory) Klinglesmith; sons, William “Bill”(Kimberly) Hogan, Brian (Paula) Hogan, Kevin (Amy) Hogan, Michael Hogan, Brendan (Ashley) Hogan; grandchildren, Preston (Rebecca) Hogan, Gabrielle Hogan, Sarah (Tanner) Christensen, Christopher Hogan, Matthew Hogan, Quinn Hogan, Owen Hogan, Bennett Hogan, Ruby Hogan, Henry Hogan; great-grandchildren, Dean Christensen, Rhett Christensen, Jackson Christensen, Oakley Hogan, Nash Hogan.

Our family wishes to thank the nurses and staff and residents at the Catholic Care Center for their loving care and support of Joan in the last years of her life.
