Johanna K. Peters

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Johanna K. Peters, who entered eternal rest on October 31, 2025 at 90 years old.

Born on July 16, 1935 in Beloit, KS to Henry and Margaret Stover, Johanna was a woman of faith, compassion, and strength. A devoted Catholic, she lived her life guided by the love of Christ and the teachings of the Church.

She earned her nursing degree from St. Francis School of Nursing, Wichita, KS, and dedicated her career to caring for others with skill, empathy, and grace. Her work as a nurse was not just a profession—it was a calling that reflected her generous heart and unwavering commitment to service.

Her greatest joy was her family. She was a loving wife to Kenneth Peters and devoted mother to four children: Daniel, Steven, Mary and Brian. She nurtured her family with warmth, wisdom, and unconditional love, creating a home rooted in faith and kindness.

Johanna was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, where she found strength in prayer, community, and service. Her devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and her quiet acts of kindness touched the lives of many.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth Peters; brother, Dick Stover; and grandson, Jacob Bauer. She is survived by her children, Daniel (Kathy) Peters, Mary Bauer, and Brian Peters of Wichita and Steven (Robin) Peters of Leawood, KS; grandchildren, Kathryn Bauer of Wichita, Kylie Peters of Leawood, KS, and Christopher (Kim) Peters of Overland Park, KS; great-grandchildren, Sydney and Hannah Peters of Overland Park, KS; brothers, Al Stover and Tom (Karen) Stover of Beloit, KS.

The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Thursday, November 6, 2025; Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Friday, November 7, 2025, both at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Wichita, KS. Burial will follow at Calvary.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Meals on Wheels, 200 S. Walnut, Wichita, KS 67213.

May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
