Bates, John Charles, 54, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2011. No services will be held. John was a manufacturing engineer for Hawker Beechcraft and enjoyed motorcycle riding, fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sharon (Morse) Bates. Survivors: wife, Paula; children, Jaime Dunn (Lance), Desiree Bates and John A.L. Bates all of Wichita; siblings, Sharlene Dautel, Emily Vaughan and Mike Baldwin; grandchildren, Morgan and KC John Dunn. Downing Lahey Mortuary West.

I am sorry to hear about Mr. Bates’ passing. He was a tough instructor but Brooke loved going to his classses. She enjoyed having him challenge her and push her to the next level. May God comfort you and your family at this time.
I am sorry to read about John’s passing. John and your family did Tae Kwon Do in Clearwater and I worked with John at Hawker. Again I am sorry for your loss
I am so sorry to hear of your loss!! Your whole family are wonderful people and I miss seeing you all. Drove by the house in Viola a few times but cars were never there, just learned recently that you had moved. Please accept my condolences and prayers. Hope to talk to you soon!!
