John Dekker

John Dekker, 89, retired City of Wichita Attorney, died Saturday, November 29, 2014 in Anthem, AZ. Rosary service will be 7:00 P.M., Friday, December 5, 2014, at Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 6, 2014, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. John was preceded in death by his wife Genevieve of 55 years; sister, Sr. Catherine Dekker; brother, Albert Dekker. He is survived by his children, Karen McCall (Mark), of Wichita, Kevin Dekker, of Anthem, AZ, Steven Dekker (Gregory Montelaro), of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Rachel Somerville (Martin), Matt McCall (Amy), Ryan McCall (Marisa Hershey), Megan McCall (Aaron Rivera), Preston, Andrea, and Alivia Dekker; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. A memorial has been established with Sisters of St. Joseph, 3700 East Lincoln, Wichita, Kansas, 67218.
