John G. Green, 74, Retired Kansas Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in Charge and Sedgwick County Sheriff Department Colonel, died Wednesday, April 10, 2024. Memorial Service will be at 3:00 pm, Friday, April 26, 2024, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Preceded in death by his parents, Nat, Sr. and Elizabeth Green; brother, Nat Green, Jr. Survived by his wife, Katheryn Green; daughter, Kori Green; son, Nat Green, III; brother, Thomas Green; Little Brother, Dylan Barenberg. Memorials have been established with: Wichita Animal Action League, P.O. Box 21401, Wichita, KS 67208; Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202.

John was always there for me . He came in to my life when I need him the most him and his family helped me through so much and taught me everything I became with the support of him and his family . Me and him wrote and essay for big brothers and big sisters . It was about my hero John Green 💚 he is still my hero and will always be my hero and him and his family will always be family . He is missed
I met John when I worked for big brothers big sisters. I matched him with a boy and John was so dedicated. I then decided to go to the sheriff’s academy in 2004 and found out I had cancer. John was so kind and supportive. He remained a good friend. Condolences to the family.
