John Moore

Moore, John E., 79, passed peacefully December 5, 2014 with his family, dear friends, prayers encircling him. He was born July 1, 1935 in his country home near Dover, AR. After retiring in 1994 as store manager from Safeway Stores, Inc. following 43 years of service, John wife Nancy devoted time to building and enjoying the lake house in Council Grove, Kansas in partnership with dear friends Ann John Prothro. He welcomed all family friends to enjoy boating, water sports, fishing storytelling. Throughout his life, Johns primary passion was restoring automobiles: classics, Mustangs, most recently a 1955 Ford Truck. He also enjoyed tinkering to rebuild clocks following Nascar. John Nancy loved to travel, especially with close friends the six-pack, exploring places near far. Our dad was the most generous man we knew. His grandchildren cherished adored Papa, Papa Doodle, Papa Tank. John was preceded in death by parents Reece Moore Bertha Jones Moore of Dover, AR. Survivors include loving wife of 56 years, Nancy Moore; children Jennifer Moore, Andrea Moore, Brent (Mia) Moore; grandchildren Taryn Moore, Reece, Kerby, Lauren Sloyer; all of Wichita, Kansas; numerous cousins, best bud Jerry Fahnholz.
