John P. Strunk After a long and fruitful life, John, 82, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017, surrounded by those he loved. John, of St. Mark, spent his life as a farmer, beloved husband, father and friend. He was a humble man, who wasnt big on bragging in obituaries. Those who knew him, knew what kind of man he was. Strunk was born to John P. Strunk, M.D., and Josephine Strunk in Andale, Kan., March 15, 1935. His father died shortly after his birth. His mother later remarried Aloys Strunk, who adopted John and raised him. Strunk was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Sandra Strunk. Strunk leaves behind his wife, Ruth, and children, Julie Menefee (Greg), Windsor, Colo., Wayne Strunk (Roxie), Wichita, Angelica Ramos (Israel), Wichita, Janelle Gottlieb (Matt), Dallas, Texas, and Adam Strunk, Newton; sister, Mary Strunk (Teresa), Wichita, survives Strunk as well as numerous grandchildren: Aleah, Austin, Carson, Ellyana, Jacob, Adriana, Keaton, Kinsley, Elijah and Lyla. Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Friday, June 23; Funeral Mass will take place Saturday, June 24, at 10 a.m., both at St. Mark Catholic Church, St. Mark, Kan., with graveside service and dinner to follow at the parish life center.
