VanHaverbeke, John Paul, 80, retired after 35 years of employment with IBM, passed away Friday, June 10, 2011. The Rosary Vigil will be 7 p.m., Sunday, June 12; Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Monday, June 13, both at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. John was born in Eureka, Kansas and raised in Kingman, Kansas. His parents were John C. and Virginia VanHaverbeke. John was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. A brother, Andre, also preceded him in death. Survivors: his wife of 54 years, Patricia (Bode); daughter, Debbie (Bob) ODell of Wichita; sons, Tim VanHaverbeke of Golden, Colorado and Rev. Ken VanHaverbeke of Wichita; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Memorials are established with Knights of Columbus Council #10483, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church-St. Peregrine Fund and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Downing Lahey Mortuary West.
