I met John a few years ago when I started grooming his beautiful little dog Penny. John was a very sweet and kind soul. He loved his Penny very much and took such good care of her. I remember he would always tell me about how she would chase the geese before her appointment and it always made us laugh. I am so sadden to hear of his passing. I know he was surrounded by so much love, so I am sending his family, his friends, and Penny love, warm hugs, and healing prayers.
I will miss you dearly, John.

my grandpa was like my best friend and he taught me so much things like how to cook how to be a good person he was loved by so many people aseptically Alex, mom (Jessica), and I (Whitney).
John was a fantastic Dad, Grandpa and friend. I enjoyed his friendship and company for the past 28 years through MICA and the trips we took to grade safety. We will all miss John but realize he is in a better place and hopefully fishing and enjoying eternal life.

I met John over fifty years ago. We were of the same ilk just on different paths. When our paths crossed we had great times and created wonderful memories. Thank you John.
Cheers, Jim and Kathy Siebert.
When John and Ruth came to our Summer home in Michigan for a weekend, that was when he discovered yellow Lake Perch. He loved it and any time we went to a restaurant, he’d ask if they had yellow Lake perch. Two years later when we all were at a MICA meeting in Wisconsin, the first thing he asked us about was whether or not he would be able to get Lake perch there. John loved his fish, whether he was catching it or eating it. I remember his love of Grouper in Florida. He was so excited when he found a restaurant that served Grouper 5 different ways. John was a great guy and and even better friend.
We loved John’s visits to Beaver Lake to striper fish. He was a kind and gentle soul who dearly loved to fish. He fished with Big Dog for at least 30 years. Always coming for a week in the Spring. We will miss our annual dinners with him, how he loved stuffed mushrooms and a good steak. He was good man and a great friend. We will treasure those good times and the wonderful memories. Rest in Peace dear John. We will see you again.
