Kesler, John “Wyatt,” 23, financial analyst, died Sunday, April 19, 2015 in Houston, TX. Visitation with Wyatts family will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, April 23, 2015; Funeral Service will be at 3:00 P.M., Friday, April 24, 2015, both at Downing Lahey East Mortuary. Wyatt was born September 17, 1991 in Dodge City, Kansas. The family moved to Wichita in 2004 where he and the Wichita Collegiate School tennis team won the State Championship several years and he graduated in 2010 with many honors, including Summa Cum Laude. He attended both KU and WSU working on his business finance degree. He enjoyed tennis, cars, baseball, and loved every minute near water - whether at Cedar Bluff Lake, Harbor Isle, or the Virgin Islands. He is survived by his Momma, Kecia Kesler; sisters, Nicole Kesler (“Coli”), age 18, and Zaydie Ladner, age 9; step-sister, Sara Lockman; step-brothers, Ryan Lockman, and Baylee Ladner; his Auntie, Arianne Garcia; cousin, Blanca Garcia; Bebaw, John Fierro; Memaw, Annette Fierro. Also his father and stepmother, Boyd and Linda Kesler; and grandma, Delores Kesler, of Estherville, IA; the Perkins Family; the Ladner Family; many aunts and uncles, cousins, and close family friends. Although it was far too soon to lose this sweet, beautiful boy with such a brilliant mind, we are grateful for the short time we had with him. In spite of his struggles, he was at least able to experience the love from his family, the joy of personal and professional successes, and most importantly, he found his true love, which many of us never find in a lifetime. His loss will leave an emptiness in the hearts of countless friends, family, and all who knew Wyatt and his kind soul. A memorial has been established: “The Wyatt Kesler Educational Foundation,” at Legacy Bank, 3711 N. Ridge Rd., Wichita, KS 67205, to provide college scholarships for gifted students in the mathematics and finance fields, along with support of dyslexic and visually challenged children, in honor of his sister. The family would prefer plants, trees or bulbs that can be planted in memory of Wyatt, rather than cut arrangements.
