Jon Kincheloe passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Jon was born on September 9, 1947, in Hominy, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. C.A. and Eula Kincheloe; sister, Cherry Turnage; and brother, Dan Kincheloe. He is survived by his sister, Ann Black of Wichita, KS; nieces, Angie Johnson, Pam Morgan, Chera Kee Speegle, Kim Rodriguez and Tracy Turnage; nephews, Artie Vaughn, Mark Turnage, Rev. John Turnage and David Turnage. Jon graduated from WSU with a B.A. in Business Administration and also completed Air Defense School with the U.S. Army. He worked 36 years in the airline industry (1972-2008), moving up from a starting position with American Airlines to a Regional Director of Sales for the Asia/Pacific region at Boeing. His career included 20 years (1980-2000) as an International Director for Sony and 8 years (2000-2008) as a Regional Director with Connexion by Boeing. He was successful because of his charismatic personality and good work ethic. Jon played high school sports at Heights in Wichita. His career took him to Southern California until retirement. He then returned to Wichita. He traveled the world and enjoyed many safaris. Jon was an avid athlete participating in running, cycling, tennis and golf. A sports aficionado particularly enjoying college athletics and Premier League Soccer, his great appreciation of food led him to become an accomplished cook mastering many things including Braised Short Ribs. He was an avid reader with a memory of great magnitude. He loved animals, dogs in particular, with a best friend named Wheeler. Jon was a bigger than life personality that entertained all that knew him. Memorial Service will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Westwood Presbyterian Church, 8007 W. Maple, Wichita, KS. Masks are requested. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jon’s memory can be made to Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219. Services in care of Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.
