Joni Reneé Davis, 61, Registered Nurse, died Wednesday, June 12, 2024.
Memorial Service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, June 29, 2024, at First United Methodist Church, El Dorado.
Preceded in death by her sister, Janis Angermayr; brother-in-law, Bruce Miller.
Survived by her husband, Charles Davis of El Dorado; son, Colin (Ashley) Chavez of Grand Prairie, TX; daughter, Jenn Lugo of Lake Jackson, TX; parents, Charles and Jean Matthews; brother-in-law, Günter Angermayr of Estes Park, CO; sisters, Jalynn (Jerre) Nolte of Lawrence, KS, Jill Kathryn Miller of Wichita; nieces, Stephanie Miller of Wichita, Rebecca (Alek) Bowles of Lawrence, KS, Tia (Will) Perng of Wichita; nephews, Christopher Minor of Brooklyn, NY, John Angermayr of Estes Park, CO, Matthew (Madison) Nolte, Nicholas Nolte, both of Kansas City, MO, Travis (Carol) Miller of Katy, TX; great-nephews, Beckett, Cutler, and Declan Bowles, Miller Nolte, Landrik, Eelam, and Grammer Perng; cousins, Jim (Jennifer) Robinson, Marisa Norrick, both of Wichita; uncle, David (Kim) Matthews of El Dorado, KS.
Joni’s legacy is one of compassion and service. As a dedicated registered nurse and Lay Minister, Joni’s nurturing spirit touched countless lives. She and Charles may not have had children biologically, but they parented many through their love, guidance, and unwavering support, and they loved Colin and Jenn as their own. Joni’s actions spoke volumes about the boundless and heartfelt love she had to offer. Her kindness, generosity, and spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone she touched.
