Joseph "Joe" John Schermuly,
95, cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, died Thursday, January 7, 2021. He was a proud World War II U.S. Navy veteran. Rosary, 10:00 a.m.; Funeral Mass, 10:30 a.m., both Saturday, January 16, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Cecilia Schermuly; wife, Sandy Schermuly; daughter, Becky Kassner; son, Chris Schermuly. Survivors: daughters, Lori (Merle) Caylor of Kansas City, MO, Nan (Dennis) Laird, Julie (Bob) Kiser and Jill (Daniel) Hirschler, all of Wichita; sons, Joseph (Pat) Schermuly of Peck, Andy (Carrie) Schermuly of Phoenix, AZ; son-in-law, Buddy Kassner; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Tom Schermuly of Wichita. Memorials established with St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 3642 N. Ridge Rd, Wichita, KS 67205 and Guadalupe Clinic, 940 S. St. Francis, Wichita, KS 67211. Downing & Lahey West.
