Joseph Rock Gunn

Joseph Rock Gunn, known by all as "Joe", 39 years old, was called to be with the Lord on June 12, 2018 after a traumatic brain injury resulting from a motorcycle accident. Joes wish to give the gift of life through organ donation was honored by his family. He was surrounded by his loving family and so many friends at Wesley Hospital in Wichita, KS. Joe was born in Ness City, KS on November 12, 1978. He is preceded in death by his father, Rocky Gunn, grandparents Bob & Gwen Gunn. Joe is survived by his two beautiful daughters, Lily and Violet Gunn; mother, Geri Engelken; sister, Jenn (Ryan) Doyle; brother, Eryk Hurst; grandparents, Oscar & Leona McIntosh; nieces, Braylen & Kennah, nephew, Caden, numerous other relatives & friends. Joe lived his life to the fullest and mostly on the edge. He was most genuine, with a heart of gold. Joe was a friend to everyone he met & was well known by many area contractors for his expertise in granite work. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. It was obvious to anyone and everyone that knew Joe; his daughters were his whole world. Lily and Violet brought him happiness beyond measure. We take comfort knowing he is at peace with the Lord, though he will be deeply missed. Visitation Tuesday, June 19th from 12:00 pm until Rosary begins at 1:30 pm, followed by Funeral Mass at 2:00 pm, all at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Memorial donations to His Childrens Education Fund.
