Guestbook

  1. My thoughts and prayers are will all you kids, Jim, Susan and Cheryl and your families. It was an honor to know your dad and family years ago.

  2. Jim, Susan, and Cheryl, My deepest sympathies to you in the loss of your father. He was truly a remarkable man and very dedicated to the Skyline School System. My parents always spoke highly of Joe and he was respected by them and myself. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this time as it is always difficult to lose a parent.

  3. Bev, I just want to express my condolences in the loss of Joe. He was an amazing person who helped transform the Maize school district into the awesome district it is today. You have been a wonderful wife to Joe and I know very helpful in these last few months of health issues. If there is ever anything I can do to help you please do not hesitate to let me know. Your wonderful family will doubtless be by your side to help also. You are in my thoughts and prayers Bev! God bless you always.

  4. Beverly, I saw Joe’s obituary in the paper and just wanted to let you know how sorry I am for your loss but how happy I am that Joe has joined his loving Father. Thanks for letting me take care of him in the past. I am wishing you the very best. God Bless

  5. Mr. Hickey will be missed by all that knew and worked for him.He loved children and did everything he possibily could to ensure quality education for all Maize students. Our prayers go with the family during this time of loss.

  6. Bevery, we were saddened to read of Joe passing. Although we never got to meet him, we know he had a lot to do with the current success of the Maize school district. Please accept our sincere sympathy and we want you to know our thoughts and prayers are especially with you and your family at this time.

  7. Susan, I was sorry to hear about your father. Even though he was ill for a time, that doesn’t lessen the pain of loss. Surely he will experience the true joy of Easter this year. Please know that I will keep you and all of your family in my thoughts and prayers. Katie

  8. Susan, I didn’t know your dad but I certainly am aware of the influence he had on your life. I am sorry for your loss and suspect both your family and the education community will miss him terribly.

  9. Gayle and I are saddened to hear of Joe’s passing. Joe was the first person that I met at Skyline Schools. He also kept sending me contract’s to sign until I caved and accepted, thus starting my teaching career. If it were not for him I would not have had the opportunity to teach at Skyline for 35 years. We want you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May God’s blessings be upon your family. Sincerely Ed and Gayle Hayter

  10. I can’t begin to tell you what Joe meant to me. He actually knew me from the day I was born. He was one of my very favorite people in the entire world. His sense of humor, that twinkle in his eye, his zest for life… all very contagious to those around him. The earth lost a very good man on April 3, but he is in a much better place; and I for one, am so very thankful I had the opportunity to know and to love him for all those years. Thoughts and prayers are with you all. Denny and I will see you Tues. Sincerely, Glenda (Himes) Swiantek
