Joyce (Ketzner) Kerschen, 78, retired Southwestern Bell Telephone Company Scheduling Clerk for almost 40 years, died Wednesday, May 11, 2022. Rosary will be at 7:00 pm, Monday, May 16, 2022 at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary, Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Joyce belonged to the VFW Auxiliary, Eagle's Lounge Auxiliary, had a passion for bowling, loved playing cards, going to the casino and was an avid member of the Bishop Carroll wrestling community for over 40 years. Joyce enjoyed all sports but especially cheering on her kids and grandkids. Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Alfreda Ketzner. Survived by her sons, Brent (Angie) Kerschen, Mark (Mendy) Kerschen; grandchildren, Briley (Matthew) Letkiewicz, Hadley (Fiancé, Cade Becker) Kerschen, Ella Kerschen, Charley Kerschen, Jax Kerschen; brothers, Ron (Loretta) Ketzner, Dick (Corene) Ketzner; sisters, Mary (Wayne) Short, Jane Ketzner. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Bishop Carroll Catholic High School Wrestling Program, 8101 West Central, Wichita, KS 67212. Downing & Lahey Mortuary - West Chapel.
Such a great lady. Always smiling. Joyce was always cheering on her and everyone else’s kids at whatever sport was in season. You could always find her at the ball fields, Friday night football game or in the stands at a wrestling tournament. A genuinely kind and caring person.
