Phillips, Joyce Ilene, 82, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Thursday, April 23, 2009. Service, 10:00 A.M., Monday, April 27, Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Graveside service will be at 12 noon at the Indianola Cemetery near Andover. Joyce was an avid gardener, and in the past was distinguished as a Master Gardener by the Extension Service. She is survived by her children, James (Arlene) and Randall; grandchildren, Adam, Laura Hedden, Sarah, Zachary, Nicholas, Amanda Samuel, James and Michael Flaigle and six great-grandchildren.

Mom carried some very heavy burdens for many years – burdens no mother should have to carry, let alone someone as gentle and kind as she was. I am happy that she can finally rest; finally get the peace she deserves. But, I think I only fully realized these last few days how much I will miss her.
