Orr, Juanita “Nita” F. , 78, Homemaker, went to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Saturday, April 15, 2006. Born February 20, 1928 in Ponca City, OK where she lived with her family on a farm until she married her husband Jack. They were married in May of 1948 and later moved to Wichita. Service will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 18, 2006, Westwood Presbyterian Church with Graveside services 2:00 P.M., Longwood Cemetery East of Ponca City, OK. Survivors are husband, Jack, Daughters and Sons-in-law: Kathi (Rick) Huffhines of Plano, TX, Kay (Mike) Schierling of Wichita; Sons: John and Jeffrey both of Wichita; KS, Sister, Claramaud Hargraves Ponca City, OK; Grandchildren, Michelle Eric. Preceded in death by a Brother, Zane Browning. Nothing meant more to her than her faith in Christ, her family and friends. Nita was a gracious hostess and loved to plan and cook to make every occasion a special occasion when family and friends gathered. She will be missed greatly by her family and those who knew her. Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at Westwood Presbyterian Church with Graveside Services 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, Longwood Cemetery, East of Ponca City, OK.

  1. Jack and Family, I’m so sorry to hear of Nita’s passing. She was always a delight to talk to when she would call Cessna looking for Jack. I will never forget the Christmas lunch she prepared for us. What a great cook and hostess!!! My heart goes out to all of you during this very difficult time. Joan Snow

  2. John, I met your mother a few times. She was a lovely lady. I still use her receipe for the Mississippi Mud cake she was so gracious to share with my family. Our prayers are with you and yours.
