Judith "Devon" Dionisi

May 24, 1960 ~ November 7, 2022
Judith “Devon” Dionisi, 62, found peace in Heaven on November 7, 2022, following progression of her breast cancer. Born on May 24, 1960 in Dodge City, KS, she was the daughter of Leona Slattery and Bernard Brazda. Devon spent her early childhood in Denver, Colorado, and later graduated high school in Hoisington, Kansas. In her early adult years, she was an active member of Great Bend, KS, where she enjoyed playing in recreation sports leagues. Here, she met Michael who became her husband and loving companion of 28 years. They moved to Wichita, KS, where they welcomed their two daughters, Leah and Meg. She and her family joined Blessed Sacrament Parish, where she was touched by many wonderful friendships over the years. Through the church, she found great fulfillment in providing hospitality through involvement in the welcoming committee and hosting weekly coffee and donuts and years of mother-daughter breakfasts. One of Devon’s greatest joys was enriching her daughters’ lives in coaching volleyball, leading girl scout troops, and supporting many years of dance. Devon’s hardworking spirit was evidenced in her 20-year career as a medical insurance processor, during which time she appreciated the friendship of many coworkers. Throughout her life, her most deeply held sense of purpose was loving and caring for those around her. Devon was a shining example of selfless devotion to her family. In recent years, she strengthened those around her by example of her steadfast spiritual conviction in light of significant hardship. She will always be admired for her fun-loving wit, selfless nature, and humble, trusting spirit in God’s will.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Michael Dionisi, and brother, Bryan Brazda. She is survived by her daughters, Leah (Brock) Diebolt and Margaret; brothers, Bret (Janet) Brazda, Bradly (Fern) Brazda; sister, Cindy (Charlie) Suchy; and sister-in-law, Paula Brazda. She will be missed dearly by her in-laws and many cherished nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be held Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, at 7 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church in Wichita. Memorial services will be Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church. A luncheon will follow the memorial service. A private burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery. Donations may be made in Devon’s memory to the St. Vincent De Paul Society and Victory in the Valley.

I worked with Devon at Ascension. She was a beautiful person! Always willing to help and enjoyed working with us. She will be sorely missed!
I worked at Ascension with Devon. We shared lots of laughter together & I loved our visits! Heaven has truly gained an angel.
What a treasure to have cared for Devon and Michael both. We had so many laughs with them in the treatment rooms. Devon was such an amazing woman and she absolutely adored both of you girls. She was always so proud to tell us about your recent achievements. I had so many long conversations about family, recipes, and gardens with her. She always left in me awe of how strong she was. We were so blessed to know her and Michael. We won’t ever forget them.
Peace and Strength – Sharina Llamas, RN CCK
When I started at Ascension almost 3 years ago Devon was in remission and I always thought how beautiful she looked in her scarfs. Watching her hair grow and seeing her enjoy the different hair styles was so wonderful and brought so much hope for her future. I, as I know everyone else, am saddened the future wasn’t much longer but am thankful for her now healed body and the joy she is experiencing with our Heavenly Father. Praying for peace for her family.
