Karen Maupin

Karen Maupin, 81, loving wife, mother and grandmother was born May 9, 1942, in Wichita and passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. Memorial Service will be 10:00 am, Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joney and Ruby Ziegler; brother-in-law, Ed Maupin.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Thomas "Ted" Maupin; daughter, Debbie O'Malley; son-in-law, Patrick O'Malley; grandchildren, Alexis, Michael, and Matthew O'Malley.
She wishes to remember the Feldt cousins, who shared her life and many good times, Regina Keller, her friend from high school and Phyliss Barnes, another longtime friend. She wants to extend a special thanks to Kim and Alice, her hospice nurses.
She thanks all her survivors for their love, prayers and support during her illness.
Karen was employed by Beechcraft and Sears. Her favorite pastimes were reading, KU Basketball, and Kansas City Chiefs Football.

I met Karen in the early 60s when we both worked in Quality Control at Beech Aircraft. We had lots of memories from those days. She was a nice person. Betty Huntington Woodrow
My mother Kasey remembers Karen from school, and they were great pals. She was a great friend to my mother and Karen will be missed
