Kenneth Edward Pauly, 79, of Wichita passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, surrounded by family following an illness.
Ken was born to Ralph and Doris Pauly on September 12, 1946, and was the oldest of his five siblings. Raised on a dairy farm near Garden Plain, he learned early the value of hard work. Those early mornings tending to chores shaped not only his work ethic but also the steady, dependable spirit that defined him.
As a high school track standout, he was recruited by Wichita State University to become a member of the track team. While at WSU, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. After graduation, he fulfilled his military obligation by joining the Army Reserves. Ken went on to build a successful career in commercial insurance, where he was known for his integrity, reliability, and genuine care for his clients. He approached his work the same way he approached life—with honesty, diligence, and a commitment to helping others.
Ken found joy in simple pleasures: the rhythm of rural life on his farm near Clearwater, the open sky, and time spent with loved ones. He carried the lessons of his youth into every chapter of his life, living with integrity and quiet strength.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dorale Gerlach. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn; daughter, Alyssa Graham; son-in-law, Jeb; and granddaughters, Lydia and Lauren of Leawood Kansas; brothers, Keith (Carol) Pauly, Ralph (Margie) Pauly Jr., Dr. Tim (Dian) Pauly, Jerry (Cindy) Pauly; brother-in-law, Galen Gerlach; and many other family members and friends.

I worked with Ken at Willis Insurance, and Wheeler, Kelly, Hagny. He was a great person to work with and I enjoyed working for him. May he rest in peace.
