Celebrating the life of Kenneth Fuston Jr., affectionately known as Kenny, who passed away peacefully in his hometown of Wichita, Kansas, on Saturday, August 9, 2025. Born and raised in the same city, Kenny was a beacon of knowledge, hard work, kindness, and had the ability to strike up a conversation with just about anyone.

Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Esperanza Fuston, whom he married in an enchanting ceremony in Davao, Philippines, in September of 1989. Together, they built a life filled with joy and exploration in Wichita, KS. Also cherishing his memory are his children, Dwayne Fuston and Christine Fuston. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Fuston Sr., and Betty Sandstrum.

A proud alumnus of Heights High School, Kenny dedicated over 40 years of service to Boeing/Spirit, where his commitment and expertise were revered by many. His technical acumen extended beyond professional realms into his personal passions; Kenny was an accomplished “Extra Class” ham radio operator. He also enjoyed collecting CDs, tinkering with electronics, working on computers, and playing with dogs. Kenny’s adventurous spirit was evident in his love for traveling, weather watching, and his enthusiasm for trying new restaurants.

Beloved for his encyclopedic knowledge on a wide array of topics—from tools to weather and cars—Kenny was often found sharing vivid stories about the numerous people he had met, always remembering even the minutest details of his encounters.

Kenny’s faith played a significant role in his life, being an active member of the Greenwich Church of Christ.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.

As we bid farewell to a man of extraordinary talent and warmth, memorial contributions can be directed to the Greenwich Church of Christ (1746 S. Greenwich Rd., Wichita, KS 67207), an embodiment of Kenny’s commitment to faith and community.

Kenny’s absence will be deeply felt, and his stories, friendship, and heartfelt kindness will forever resonate with those who had the pleasure to know him.
