Kenneth N. Spicher Ken entered into the Gates of Heaven on November 9, 2017, at home with his wife, Rae, and Zoie by his side. Ken was born in Beloit, Ks, on May 31, 1932, and moved to Glasco, KS in the 7th grade where he participated in FFA, 4H, and was an Eagle Scout at 13. In high School Ken was active in football and basketball being named Captain his senior year in both sports. Ken graduated from Kansas State University in 1955 with degrees in Science and Physical Education where he earned a full scholarship in wrestling, was a 4-year letterman and was captain of the wrestling team his Senior year. Ken earned his Masters degree from Emporia State and Administration degree from Wichita State. In 1956, while in Wellington, he met and married Rae and they enjoyed golf and traveling together for the next 61 years. Ken taught school in Wellington where he started the wrestling program and taught biology. Moving to Wichita in 1959 he coached baseball, coached wrestling and was an assistant in football at South High. Ken transferred to East High where he coached wrestling along with boys and girls golf. Ken later worked at Boeing in Material as a buyer and retired in 1994 from Boeing, spending most of his time playing golf at Rolling Hills CC and volunteering at Meals on Wheels, Music Theatre, and Salvation Army. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Noble and Garnet Spicher; brother, Donald; sister, Dorothy Windhorst; and fur babies, Lizanne and Toby. Ken is survived by his wife, Rae; and fur baby, Zoie; nieces and nephews. Memorial service 1:00 pm, Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Westwood Presbyterian Church.
