Kip was always so kind and had a smile on his face. I could tell how much he loved his children. I remember going to Vegas and he hit the jackpot. He looked over at me and told me the first thing he was going to do was buy his son and soon to be daughter in law dinner that night. He was so excited and couldn’t wait. I will also always remember sharing the memory of one of my first Chiefs games at arrowhead with him.
I am so glad I was able to be be part of his life. He always made me feel like family. You will be missed.
My favorite memory of Kip was visiting him at his old house. His puppy was a little rambunctious. Kip said – very calmly “okay” and the dog laid down. I thought that was incredible. He is gentle, kind, loving… and in general, a person that we should all try to be! Now that he is watching over us, we all need to make EXTRA sure we are carrying on his legacy.
I knew Kirk in grade/middle school at Blessed Sacrament. I remember his interest in lighting for plays and assemblies at East High. RIP Kiek.
Kip seemed like a gentle soul and I was sorry to hear of his passing. I send my sincere condolences to all his family and trust they will be comforted with many loving memories of Kip.
Kirk and Dave with my brother Greg and me, c 1964. fond memories of a great friend.
