Lavone Lagerquist

Lagerquist, Lavone, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2010. A resident of McKinney, Texas since 2004, she spent her life before in Wichita, Kansas. She was born in Morganville, Kansas November 11, 1914 to Robert and Beulah Carlson. After graduating from Clay Center High School and Wichita State University, she was a teacher starting in a rural one room school until her retirement at Kellogg Elementary School in Wichita. Lavone married Cecil J. Lagerquist on June 28, 1941. They became members of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church that same year. They lived in Wichita during their marriage. Cecil preceded her in death along with her parents, Robert and Beulah Carlson and her brother, Wayne Carlson. She is survived by a daughter, Pamela Schultis of McKinney, Texas and grandsons Stephen and wife Carol Schultis of Austin, Texas and Mark Schultis and fiance Lauren Klein of Dallas, Texas. Her life was well spent and she will be missed by her family and friends. She was kind and loving to everyone. A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, June 22 , 2010. 11:00 a.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Visitation with the family will be held 5 - 7 p.m. June 21, 2010, Downing Lahey East Mortuary. Dear Pam and Family, I’m so sorry to learn of your Mother’s passing. When I go to Lakeview Gardens to ‘visit’ my folks, I often walk over to your Dad’s grave and think of all the friends and special times at Gloria Dei. Now I will visit both of your parents.
