Lawrence L. “Curley” Rodick
A beloved man and father, Lawrence L. “Curley” Rodick, age 94 years, went to his Heavenly Father on May 9, 2016. He was born on a lovely farm in northern Kansas, to Carl and Christine (Stigge) Rodick, deceased, where he lived until he moved to Wichita, KS. There he married Dorothy Adams, who is also deceased. He was the fourth child of nine. There are three surviving siblings at this date. He retired in 1986 from Davis Moore, where he was a number one salesman for many years. He continued to be active in buying and selling and managing his rental until his health made that impossible. He is survived by his three children, Linda (Donald) Smith, Cynthia (Larry) Nutt, both of Wichita, KS, Craig (Linda) Rodick of California, MO; stepson, Frank Long of OK. He had 7 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren. He also was a great-grandparent to 11. He will be placed with his wife, Carol, of more than 50 years, at El Paso Cemetery in Derby, KS. Memorials have been requested in lieu of flowers to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 600 N. Greenwich Rd., Wichita, KS 67206 and Trinity Lutheran Church, 611 S. Erie, Wichita, KS 67211. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at 10:30 A.M., at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, officiated by Pastor Daniel Myers and Pastor Geoff Boyle. Downing & Lahey East Mortuary is taking care of our loved one until the service.
