Layton James Hanna

June 28, 2023 ~ June 29, 2023
Precious baby boy, Layton James Hanna, was born June 28, 2023 to his loving parents, Nicholas and Kara Hanna. His family was blessed enough to spend 23 hours with him before he passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his mother’s embrace on Thursday, June 29, 2023. From the minute they knew he would become a part of their family, Layton was so deeply loved by his parents and four siblings, Coen, Adayre, Raelynn, and Myla. He was the long anticipated little brother and the completion to the family’s lifelong dream of having five children. Early on in pregnancy Layton was diagnosed with a rare, life limiting genetic syndrome. Their unconditional love did not waiver no matter how their circumstances changed. They embraced how precious their time with him would be, making as many life long memories as possible. His nine months in the womb were filled with sonograms, photographs, siblings’ songs, hand drawn pictures and crafts, pregnant belly kisses, and an abundance of prayers. In his short 23 hours he was able to know the love of his family and the love of God through the sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation. His final hours on earth were filled with endless kisses, adoring embraces, sibling snuggles, grandparents’ love, mama’s lullabies, and daddy’s tender touch. Although his time here on Earth was short lived, he has forever made a lasting impact on the lives of so many. Throughout his heartbreakingly difficult diagnosis he has helped countless people grow in God’s love and strengthen the compassion, generosity, and love we have for one another. Layton’s life was an incredible blessing that has forever left an imprint on the hearts and souls of so many.
