90, retired farmer and owner of Girrens Meat Market, passed away January 27, 2018. Rosary, 6 p.m., Friday, February 2; Funeral Mass, 10 a.m., Saturday, February 3, both at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Haysville. Burial will follow at St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Cemetery in Schulte. Leon served in the U.S. Army as a combat medic during the Korean War and was a Bronze Star recipient. He was preceded in death by parents, John M. and Cecelia (Doffing) Girrens, and his wife of 57 years, Marilyn F. (Becker) Girrens. Leon is survived by children, Joni Kay Peterson (Steven) and Janet Rae Chadd (David) all of Wichita; grandchildren, Kristen Baskill (Paul), Kyle Peterson, Drew Chadd, Aaron Peterson, Haley Chadd, Nathan Chadd and Hannah Chadd; siblings, John Girrens, Jr. (Min), Clyde Girrens (Pat), Paul Girrens (Bernetta), Karen Gilbert (Dean) all of Wichita along with Leons countless friends. Leon "Dad and Grandpa" was a treasure that will be missed by all. Memorials established with St Cecilia Catholic Church, 1912 W.
