Duncan, Leona Z., 94, passed from this life to the next on March 21, 2013. She left the world in the same mild and peaceful manner that she lived her life. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 25, 2013, at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Lee grew up on a farm near Cuba, Kansas. She moved to Wichita where she met her late husband, William Harold Duncan with whom she lived in holy matrimony for 56 years. She is survived by her son, William H. Duncan and his wife Julie, and three grandsons: Cooper, Brady and Grant. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Duncan Lore, who left her three grandsons: Zachary, Nathaniel and Matthew, and a loyal son-in-law, Paul. Leona outlived all of her siblings, but was loved by her many surviving nieces and nephews. Lee enjoyed playing cards and dominos with family and friends, and remained a savvy player. She defeated her son in her domino finale on the day she passed. Old school, she cooked and baked from scratch; we will especially miss her cherry pie. Known for putting family and friends first, Lees gentle kindness will be missed by all who knew her. A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society, 330 S. Main St. #100, Wichita, KS 67202.
