Leona J Gilchrist., 90, U.S. Postal Service employee, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013. Service, 12 p.m., Saturday, November 2, Goddard United Methodist Church, 300 N. Cedar, followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. at Wichita Park Cemetery. Preceded in death by husband of 62 years, Adrian; children, Randy and Adria; brothers, Herbert, Bill and Jim Nieuwenhuis; sisters, Marie Roetman and Irene Wiersema. Survivors include her children, Renee Ullum (Max), Pam Wiggins (Scott) and Chip Gilchrist, all of Wichita; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and her little dog, Sparky. A memorial has been established with Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6950 Squibb Road, Suite 310, Mission, KS 66202. Downing Lahey Mortuary West.
